A Man in a Kilt is a Man and a Half
To those of you who may have found my blog do to my interests in Scotland and kilts, this is one of my proudest photos. This picture of my wife and me was taken in Oahu, Hawaii on a vacation. My geneological research has indicated that I am one of many people of in the USA who are direct descendants of a Dr. John Stewart, who came to this country from Scotland sometime around 1660. I have a direct ancestor who fought in the Revolutionary War in the Battle of Kings Mountain and a direct ancestor who served in the Virginia 51st Infantry of the Confederate Army during the American Civil War.My wife and I had a Scottish wedding at West Market Street United Methodist Church in Greensboro, North Carolina on February 23, 2001 . . . one of the happiest days of my life. The kilt is my own and is made from the Black Stewart tartan. I wear it proudly and as often as possible. My mother's maiden name is Robertson, another significant Scottish clan.
SCOTLAND FOREVER!!!
